Jean Wallin
Tucson, Arizona
Jean Wallin grew up in rural Arkansas and earned degrees in Art Education before moving to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1987. That move catalyzed the merging of emotion, ideas, and materials in her paintings, where she began developing a unique series of faceless females with undertones of pure abstraction. In 2004, Wallin expanded this expression into bronze sculpture. Working without live models, she idealizes the female form in ways that are contemplative, sensually serene, and movingly accessible.
